“I think we all have the urge to be a clown, whether we know it or not.”
— Ernest Borgnine

When we think of the word 'clown' we might conjure up thoughts of red noses and tiny cars, but since ancient times, clown characters have played powerful roles in cultures around the world. From the sacred clowns of the Hopi culture to the wise fools of Shakespeare and on to the antics of Chaplin and Keaton, clown characters are often a mirror that allow us to see ourselves.
