CLASSES AT the S&S

The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre offers workshops and ensemble training for youth and adults, with an emphasis on the collaborative nature of the theatrical art.  We partner with local primary and secondary schools to shape the complete theatre artist, onstage, backstage, and front-of-house.

NOTE: We are pleased to make available several scholarships to Scamps every year. If the cost of a Scamp class presents a barrier to your child enrolling, please contact us at classes@scoundrelandscamp.org and let us know — we’d love to connect you with a scholarship.

For Children 8-11

Your Magic Library (for ages 8-11)

An in-person Learning MAGIC Adventure with Hunter Hnat as The Class Librarian
with VIDEO GUESTS Cody Landstrom & Wolfe Bowart

Runs Saturdays, 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Oct. 9 - Nov. 20, 2021.
Cost: $145 for 6 sessions and a special performance.

Your Magic Library is a six session long course recommended for students ages 8-11 that offers entertaining step-by-step instructions on magic and stage performance and helps to develop valuable physical and social skills in learners of all ages.

Fairy Tales & Folklore (for ages 8-11)

Runs Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:45am. Sep. 11 - Nov. 20, 2021.
Cost: $175 for 10 sessions and a special performance.

Fairy Tales & Folklore is a semester-long course recommended for students ages 8-11 who wish to learn the basics of theater through fantastical stories, activities, games, collaboration and movement. Students will dive into stories and learn about different cultures & traditions.

For Youth 12-15

Stagecraft for Scamps: Fall 2021 (for ages 12-15)

Runs Saturdays, 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Sep. 11 - Nov. 20, 2021 (Part One).

Design and Craft for a play! Stagecraft for Scamps is recommended for for students ages 12-15 who wish to experience the design and production side of the theater. In Part 1, students will learn lighting, set, properties and costume design and production. Part Two will be available in January.

Scamps Perform! Fall 2021 (for ages 12-15)

Runs Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. Sep. 11 - Nov. 20, 2021 (Part One).

Put on a play! Scamps Perform! is an exciting year-long experience that spans two semesters. This course recommended for students ages 12-15 who wish to experience all aspects of the on-stage side of theater through ensemble work, scenes, and monologues. In Part 1, students will learn about stage techniques, confidence & performance. Part Two will be available in January.

Both Classes: Stagecraft for Scamps + Scamps Perform!

Runs Saturdays, 9:00 - 11:45am (with a 15 min break). Sep. 11 - Nov. 20, 2021 (Part One).

Design? Act? Do it all! Scamps Perform! and Stagecraft for Scamps are companion classes where students can experience all aspects of a theatrical production. Part one will run from September 4th through Novemberf 20th. Part Two will be available in January.
