THE Trial of John Brown by Gene Abravaya
For Scoundrels Ages 15 - 105!

One Night Saturday January 11th, 2020

“I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood.”

Tension stirs in this historical drama as John Brown, an American abolitionist, is trialed for leading the raid of a federal armory in an attempt to free and arm all the slaves in the South. As one of the first trials to be covered nationally by the press, this story is one of the sparks that ignites the country to reflect and take action towards civil injustice. Written by local Tucson playwright Gene Abravaya, this drama is appropriate for Scoundrels.

Directed by Howard Allen
