Welcome to our TUCSON FESTIVAL OF BOOKS guests!
The S&S is an Official Exhibitor at the 2021 Virtual Tucson Festival of Books
The Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre is a theater for all ages located in the 4th Avenue historic shopping district, only a few blocks from the University of Arizona mall, that is committed to telling stories from diverse traditions and viewpoints. We are a small professional theater that contains a 105 seat MainStage and a small blackbox studio theater. Through August 2021, we will be offering shows for streaming, so the work we are doing can be enjoyed anywhere.
You can read more about our season and other events via our main website at scoundrelandscamp.org.
When we will be open to the public again we will be excited to share our little theater library. The Lindhorn Angell Library is located in a dedicated room just off of the ‘Penny Arcade’ of our theatre, and open to the public by appointment and for special events. It contains a collection of rare, limited edition and popular books focused on the performing arts that have been graciously donated by renowned performer and writer, JoAnn Yeomen Tongret. The Lindhorn Angell Library has been made possible by a generous donation by Allen Angell and Cindy Lindhorn.
The JoAnn Yeoman Tongret Performing Arts Collection contains materials includes scripts, scores, industry magazines, biographies/auto-bio, history, theory/critique, dance, music, writing, theatre, women in the arts, costume/set design, and related entertainment areas.
Many of the books are signed by authors such as Leslie Caron and Donna McKechnie and several are over 100 years old
Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre is honored to house this special collection library that encompasses over 1500 titles.
This collection celebrates theatre as both an art form and as a factor in a community’s social and educational life, and Tucson’s Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre now is able to offer the community this valuable resource.
While the books are currently available on-premise only, The Scoundrel and Scamp plans to make most titles available for checkout by members of the Scoundrel Society upon the roll-out of our online catalog at a later date.
