Acting shakespeare
for Ages 10-12

For: Students ages 10-12

When: 10 Saturdays, 9 - 10:15 a.m. January 19 - March 23, 2019.

Cost: $200, all materials included.

Acting Shakespeare is a semester-long course recommended for students ages 10-12 who wish to explore the works of Shakespeare and hone their acting skills through experiential activities, monologue and scene work. Students will learn about rhythm, meter, scansion and text interpretation. The course will cultivate a sense of dedication to craft, respect for fellow artists, and joy in performing. The semester will culminate in a showcase of student work.

Skills students will develop during this course:

  • Text Analysis

  • Monologue skills

  • Scene skills

  • Voice skills

  • Gesture and movement skills

  • An understanding of theatre terms and technologies
