SPECIAL PREMIERE & TALK
Our October salon is an artist spotlight on the wildly creative Scamps who assembled as a team of writers this summer for our Radio Play Camp. Guided by Wolfe Bowart, the Scamps wrote over a dozen scenes and short plays that were designed to be heard rather than seen. After the plays were finished, Wolfe Bowart, working with sound engineer (and voice talent) Tiffer Hill, brought on a team of professional actors, Gabriella De Brequet, Lance Guzman, and Nicole DelPrete, to bring the stories to life. Supplemented with the foley of yesteryear and the sound FX libraries of today, Wolfe wove the sound into a half hour of entertainment that evokes the golden age of radio.
At this salon we share with you the world premiere of their work:
The Scamp Radio (½) Hour
We will learn about the inspirations, the process and the vision of our team of 8 year old to 16 year old scamp writers. We’ll hear from Wolfe on the historical inspirations that led to the sound that we associate with the Golden Age of Radio.
You think kids say the darnedest things? Wait until you hear them write radio plays.
Hear a vegetarian alligator begrudgingly take a job at the Meat Bitz factory.
Listen as a quarantined girl discovers that the fine china in her home is conspiring against her.
And marvel at the not so true story of A Pigeon, a Bear and the Assassin Boss.
The event will run a little more than an hour.
Best enjoyed by Scoundrels ages 8+.

About The S&S Virtual Salon Series
The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre, like many performing arts organizations has been forced to shutter our theater during the pandemic, but is now creating exciting new online programming for audiences to enjoy from home.
Our newest project is a series of virtual salons in which we’ll collectively watch or listen to stories, listen to artists talk about their work, and discuss the myriad topics that emerge.
