THE SCOUNDREL & SCAMP THEATRE CLASS Health & Safety POLICY
IN RESPONSE TO THE ONGOING PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS, AND IN FOLLOWING WITH CDC GUIDELINES, ALL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS AT ALL TIMES WHILE INDOORS FOR CLASSES OR WHILE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OUTDOORS. ALL TEACHERS & STAFF ARE FULLY VACCINATED. SIGNING UP FOR OUR CLASSES MEANS AGREEING TO WEAR A MASK ON OUR PREMISES AND WHILE PARTCIPATING IN CLASS ACTIVITIES.
As part of Scoundrel & Scamp’s ongoing mission to contribute to building a healthy, loving community, we are doing our part to ensure that in-person programming can safely occur for the 2021-22 season.
We believe in the power of the arts and humanities to contribute to an engaged, healthy, and resilient society. We are thrilled to welcome you back into our space for classes and performances, but in-person events can only be held if we all do our part to acknowledge the public health conditions and respect our peers and our community by working to keep each other safe through masking and — for those who are eligible — vaccination. We are working to keep our space as clean and sanitary as possible. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building. All high-touch surfaces and seating are sanitized regularly and bathrooms are sanitized frequently. HEPA filters and HVAC fans run throughout the theatre to ensure a consistent exchange of fresh air.
Signing up for in-person classes at the Scoundrel & Scamp means that students and parents agree to wear a mask while on our premises and while participating in class activities. Further, we encourage all who are able to be vaccinated to do so.
We are closely monitoring the ever-changing public health conditions and guidelines from both the Centers for Disease Control and the Pima County Health Department.
Current CDC guidelines advise universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. They say children should return to full-time in-person learning in the fall with layered prevention strategies in place. Pima County Health Department recommends following the CDC’s guidelines as well as their own health, sanitization, and reporting protocols.
Questions and concerns may be directed to S&S Managing Director Bryan Falcón (bryan@scoundrelandscamp.org) or Director of Education Betsy Labiner (betsy@scoundrelandscamp.org).
As conditions and guidelines change, we may change our protocols and programming to reflect the most up-to-date advice from public health experts. We will update all patrons and students if changes must be made.
