CLASSES AT the S&S

The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre offers workshops and ensemble training for youth and adults, with an emphasis on the collaborative nature of the theatrical art.  We partner with local middle and high schools to shape the complete theatre artist, onstage, backstage, and front-of-house.

Foundations in Theatre for Ages 8-11

Runs Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. Jan 11 - Mar 7, 2020. Showcase on March 8th at 7pm.

Foundations in Theater is a semester-long course recommended for students ages 8-11 who wish to learn the basics of theater through experiential activities, games, collaboration and storytelling. Students will learn about writing & performance. The course will cultivate a sense of dedication to craft, respect for fellow artists, and joy in performing.

 

A Scamp Production: The Conclusion (for ages 11-18)

Runs Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. Jan 11 - Mar 7, 2020. Performance on March 8th at 7pm.

Put on a play! A Scamp Production: The Conclusion is the second of two semester-long experiences. This course recommended for students ages 11-18 who wish to experience all aspects of theater through ensemble work and the collaborative building of a play. Students will learn about writing & performance. New students welcome!

 

Stagecraft for Scamps: The Conclusion (for ages 11-18)

Runs Saturdays, 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Jan 11 - Mar 7, 2020. Performance on March 8th at 7pm.

Design and Craft for a play! Stagecraft for Scamps is recommended for for students ages 11-18 who wish to experience the design and production side of the theater. Students will learn lighting, set, properties and costume design and production.

 

Both Classes: A Scamp Production + Stagecraft for Scamps

Runs Saturdays, 9:00 - 11:45am (with a 15 min break). Jan 11 - Mar 7, 2020. Performance on March 8th at 7pm.

Design? Act? Write? Direct? Do it all! A Scamp Production: Part 1 and Stagecraft for Scamps are companion classes where students can experience all aspects of a theatrical production.

 

Auditioning Workshop with Hunter Hnat (for ages 13-18)

Runs Saturdays, 9:00 - 10:15am. Jan 11 - Mar 7, 2020.

Interested in becoming a stronger auditionee? Rogue Theatre Ensemble member Hunter Hnat offers his monologue training workshop in sessions with no more than 8 actors each, ensuring an intimate learning environment. This class will teach you the ins and outs of auditioning you how to enter and leave an audition room, and everything in between including monologue work, monologue selection, physical presentation and piece selection.
