The Mission

The Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre seeks to create a space in which local artists and audiences of all ages can explore deep and provocative questions regarding self, tribe, life, death and what it ultimately means to be human.

We seek to accomplish this by 

  • Offering our community an annual season of high quality, challenging theatrical works ranging from the classics to new;

  • Providing youth with classes, mentorship, and performance opportunities through which we will cultivate the next generation of Tucson theatre artists, with emphasis on collaboration, imagination, inquiry, and training;

  • Renovating, maintaining, and making available an affordable, quality performance space to the local artist community, with particular emphasis on work relevant to Tucson and the Southwest.


The Role

Department: Audience Care

Supervisor: Box Office Manager

Hours: Part-time & Variable / Coinciding with S&S Productions

NOTE: This position consists ENTIRELY of night and weekend shifts, reflective of S&S showtimes. 

As Box Office Agent, you’ll participate with a team of box office staff to facilitate a culture of friendliness, professionalism and audience care for our front of house interactions. You’ll serve customers, both over the phone and in person, providing information on all current performances, workshops and packages, the prices of all offerings, and other possible events taking place at the Scoundrel & Scamp. You are responsible for running ticket front of house interactions in a smooth, effective, and financially-responsible manner. In addition, you are responsible for assisting the House Manager and Ushers as requested.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide a high and professional standard of customer care that reflects the mission statement of the Scoundrel & Scamp; this is especially important as you are the first point of contact for the public

  • Assist customers with general venue and ticket information (i.e. event availability, event pricing, event seat selection, event scheduling, general parking information).

  • Open and/or close the ticket window as required 

  • Accurately dispense tickets as requested by patrons, accept payment and make change accurately 

  • Balance admission and merchandise sales and submit cash to Box Office Supervisor or Manager for audit 

  • Maintain daily reports as requested by the S&S management


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow yearly calendar and weekly box office checklists

  • As a member of a small team, there will be some tasks to aid marketing efforts, including social media updates, poster and postcard distribution, and other tasks as requested by marketing

  • Prep and assist with Will Call as requested

  • Inform, and when necessary enforce, all safety and behavioral guidelines for the Historic Y and Scoundrel & Scamp
