THE CRACK: AMONG WILD ANIMALS
by Gracia Morales and Juan Alberto Salvatierra
translated by Lauren D. Finch
An Online Reading for Scoundrels (Reading Series)
Since our inception, The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre has been thrilled to present new works of translation and adaptation with such beloved works as The Little Prince and Blood Wedding. This season we are excited to present to our audiences the winner of a new contest hosted in collaboration with the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA). This year’s competition winner, The Crack: Among Wild Animals, has been selected from a diverse field of plays translated into English that that explore the theme of ‘In Between’ .
Lucía, Nico and Tomás are three city-dwelling friends who decide to spend a weekend away at a rustic country cottage together to relax. However, with echoes of Sartre’s No Exit, the three friends find the time away with each other more than they ever bargained for.
This translation was graciously funded by the Society of Authors and Publishers of Spain (SGAE).
